Netflix is known as the “streaming giant” in the entertainment cosmos for some reason, but will Netflix have a monthly price reduction in Brazil?
The company was one of the pioneers and, in addition to creating acclaimed series and films, it also has original works that are highly valued by audiovisual fans.
However, there is something that subscribers of the platform do not like their values.
Over time, Netflix's monthly fees only increased, much to the irritation of service users.
Something, incidentally, that the company realized and, to calm things down, decided to reduce subscriptions in about 30 countries.
The news was given yesterday (23), by the Wall Street Journal, and reveals that the changes will reach the regions of the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.
So will Netflix have a monthly price reduction in Brazil?
Netflix monthly discount
Unfortunately, Netflix has no plans to devalue the Brazilian territory.
At least for a while.
The information was checked on the platform's bulletin board.
In Latin America, in Nicaragua, Ecuador and Venezuela.
According to the publication, the decision is a strategy to attract more customers, since competition between streams intensifies, and new rates will be charged in the next monthly fee for users covered by the “discount”.
streaming war
Of all the streaming services currently on the market, Netflix is still one of the most expensive.
In Brazil, the platform has four plans: Basic with advertising (R$ 18.90); base (R$ 25.90); standard ($ 39.90); and Premium (R$ 55.90).
If we compare them with the values offered by other tools, it is possible to notice the discrepancy that has been worrying fans of series and movies, who wonder about the high prices.
HBO Max, for example, announced an increase in its monthly fee in the United States in early 2023 (the first since the beginning of streaming).
The price will increase from US$ 14.99 to US$ 15.99, an increase of 7 %.
Monthly price of the streaming plan
However, in Brazil, the monthly price remains the same: R$ 27.90 (the value changes to R$ 24.97 for the quarterly plan and R$ 19.99 for the annual plan).

So, considering Netflix's highest quality plan, that's a difference of R$ 28.
In 2022, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+ were also rebalanced, jumping from R$ 9.90 to R$ 14.90 (increase from 50.5 %).
Even so, prices are much lower than what you see on Netflix, to get an idea the Basic plan with ads on the platform that offers ads and quality only 720p, is more expensive than those offered by Amazon and Apple (which bring more quality). And they don't (have ads).
In this sense, Netflix has sought to compete with other platforms, including Paramount+, Disney+ and Star+, which have conquered a considerable share of the market.
However, we may see the end of Tudum's reign sometime in the future. It will be?
